Southampton defender Jose Fonte insists the squad does not need a
major overhaul ahead of their return to the Barclays Premier League.
Saints secured promotion back to the top flight last weekend with the bulk of the team which also took them out of npower League One a year earlier.
Speaking to the club website, Fonte backed the players to make the next step up, saying: "We have a spine of the team from Kelvin Davis who has been here a long time and is a great goalkeeper, then we have Danny Fox who has played for Celtic and in the Premier League."
He added: "Jos (Hooiveld) is a great centre-back, Danny Butterfield has lots of experience and Frazer (Richardson) is a very good right-back as well.
"We have good defensive players here but we also have good midfielders and of course Rickie Lambert up front with Adam Lallana. It's a great team and we look forward to the challenge of the Premier League."
